Every December, Kisama Heritage Village becomes a meeting point for all sixteen of Nagaland's major tribes. Each maintains its own Morung, a traditional hut styled after its ancestral architecture, where visitors can see textiles, tools and rituals specific to that community.
The festival's centerpiece is the daily program of tribal dances and the Naga king chili eating competition, but the real value is in the smaller conversations that happen at each Morung, with elders who are often happy to explain the meaning behind what you're watching.
