Meghalaya: 5 Days / 4 Nights

Your Meghalaya journey begins with a morning pickup from Guwahati. Drive towards Shillong through the green hills of Meghalaya.

Stop at Umiam Lake, one of the most scenic gateways to Shillong, before continuing into the city. After checking in, spend the afternoon exploring some of Shillong's popular sights.

Visit Ward's Lake and take a walk through the city's lively streets and local markets. Depending on your arrival time, you can also visit Don Bosco Museum or enjoy an evening around Police Bazaar.

After breakfast, leave Shillong and drive towards Sohra (Cherrapunji), one of Meghalaya's most celebrated landscapes.

Stop at Mawkdok Dympep Valley Viewpoint for sweeping views across the surrounding valleys before continuing towards Sohra.

Explore some of the area's major attractions, including Nohkalikai Falls and Mawsmai Cave, depending on weather, local conditions and available time. The waterfalls and viewpoints around Sohra offer some of the most dramatic scenery in the Khasi Hills.

Continue to your accommodation and relax for the evening.

Start early and leave Sohra for a scenic drive towards the southern Khasi Hills.

Continue through the Sohbar region and onward towards Mawlynnong. Explore the village and visit the nearby Nohwet Living Root Bridge, a traditional Khasi example of living-root architecture.

Continue east towards Dawki, located along the Umngot River near the India-Bangladesh border. Take some time to enjoy the river and the surrounding landscape. Boating and other river activities can be enjoyed when weather and water conditions permit.

Later, continue to Shnongpdeng, a riverside village known for its clear waters and outdoor experiences.

Check in and enjoy a relaxed evening by the river.

Enjoy the morning around Shnongpdeng before beginning the return journey towards Shillong.

Depending on weather, road conditions and your preferred pace, you can spend some time by the Umngot River or explore the nearby area before leaving.

Continue towards Shillong via the Jaintia Hills route, with the option of stopping at a suitable attraction along the way if time permits.

Arrive in Shillong by evening and check in.
