A slow pilgrimage through the ancient monasteries and historical ruins of Western Sikkim, the cradle of Sikkim's monarchy.
We walk through the moss-covered stone ruins of Rabdentse, the old capital of Sikkim, hidden in a forest of giant ferns. In Pelling and Yuksom, we listen to the soft chant of Buddhist texts in Pemayangtse Monastery. Your days are spent walking through orange orchards, drinking local millet beer (tongba) from hollow bamboo mugs, and watching the sunset light up the massive face of Mt. Kanchenjunga.
Route: Gangtok → Ravangla → Pelling → Yuksom.
